The Network shares a commitment to provide services to the most in need families in Stoke-on-Trent and to the aims of the project:
- To prevent critical deterioration in the lives of families
- To support parents to meet the needs of their children themselves
- To promote the independence and activate engagement of families with the relevent agencies
- To promote families participation in planning support
- To support professionals working with families through the Common Assessment Framework
The Network works with families being supported through the common assessment framework who are no longer making positive progress. Referrals can be made by the CAF Lead Worker or any other member of the team around the child working with the family.
Work begins with the assessment of the families needs through consultation with the family. Using this information and that provided through the referral and assessment under the Common Assessment Framework, a support package will be agreed with the family.
Support is provided for up to three months and is intensive and immediate. Packages of support are individualy designed to meet each families needs. Network partners provide immediate access to their specialist services, removing obstacles such as waiting lists and additional referral procedures.
Family Support Network provides a broad range of support to families covering:

- Financial Advice & Guidance
- Housing Advice
